The following is an unofficial list of Rail and Towpath trails in Ohio.
Rail-Trails are recreational trails that have been built on or
along abandoned railroad lines. Some trails listed here are
also constructed along the towpaths of abandoned canals.
This list is NOT associated with, nor is it an official
publication of
either the Midwest Regional Office or the National office of the
Rails to Trails Conservancy. Information about the former
railroads that
once ran on these trails is based on maps and other sources.

-Built almost entirely -on- the route of the Ohio and Erie Canal, crossing
the Walhonding River on a rebuilt canal aqeduct bridge. Also, a
restored canal boat, the Monticello III, offers rides along a water-filled
1.5 mile portion of the canal in season.
11. CREEKSIDE TRAIL (aka Bike Route #2)

The Evans Foundation is also instrumental in the development
of an extensive network of paved walking/bicycling trails between
downtown Newark, the Newark Campus of The Ohio State University
and along Raccoon Creek that link these two rail
trails, and others. Maps of the trail system are available at
information stations along the trails.
59. TRI-COUNTY TRIANGLE TRAIL
-Ross and Fayette Counties, Highland County when completed.
-3.5 miles, (Haines Trail) complete, from Old Chillicothe Rd/Washington
Cemetery, to Market St. in Washington Court House
-1.4 miles from SR 104 to Bridge Street, Chillicothe/asphalt paved
(also includes levee trail along Scioto River).
-14.5 miles from Adena School in Frankfort to High Street (Route 104) in
Chillicothe, Ross County (also known as the "Adena Bike Path")/
asphalt paved.
-Tri-County Triangle Trail (937-981-2279) & Park Districts in Chillicothe,
Fayette and Ross County
-Portions of Baltimore & Ohio and Detroit, Toledo & Ironton Railroads
-Will be 52 miles upon completion. Will eventually connect to the Xenia
area trails via the Jamestown Bikeway. A limestone-surfaced trail of
approximately 6 miles is under construction between Robinson Road
and the Fayette/Ross Co. line.

-Construction of a missing link on the Ohio to Erie Trail around the
intersection of SR 3 and Old SR 3 (North edge of Westerville) was
completed in November 2006. The trail extends north to Plumb Road.
-Effort underway to connect this trail to Mt Vernon & the
Kokosing Gap
Trail.
65. WOLF CREEK BIKEWAY

-13 miles/now asphalt paved
