Huron, Erie County, Ohio. Photograph taken October 1992, looking due south. Some changes you would see today include the re-activation of the Ore Dock (between the harbor slips), and an amphitheater, picnic shelters and Harbor Office (opened in 2001) that are part of a park area around the "Boat Basin," the round marina on the west bank of the river. A live webcam of Huron is now available from the harbor office at the Huron Parks and Recreation site.
The Huron River Greenway Route begins at the intersection of Cleveland Road East and River Road, just to the upper left of the grain elevators along the second harbor slip. The rail-trail portion of the Greenway starts just beyond the Ohio Route 2 expressway bridge, barely visible crossing the river in the top center of the image. River Road includes bicycle and pedestrian berms.
